Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Now Have Their Own Charity

It’s official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have separated their own charity from Prince William and Kate Middleton.

In June, Harry and Meghan announced their plans to leave the foundation Harry started alongside William and Kate in 2009 so they could start their own.

At the time the palace shared in a statement, "Later this year The Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.” It added, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will establish their own new charitable foundation with transitional operating support from The Royal Foundation. In addition, both couples will continue to work together on projects in the future, including on The Foundation's mental health program, Heads Together."

Now that plan is finally coming into fruition.

Royal reporter Emily Andrews obtained a photo of the company's registration certificate that showed the new charity will be named "Sussex Royal The Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” Though the name is certainly a mouthful it happens to be reminiscent of the couple’s Instagram account, @SussexRoyal, showing they’ve likely thought a great deal about the marketing.

The certificate also showed the pair registered the name just weeks after announcing their charitable split from the Cambridges.

But, that’s really all the information we know for now. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson told Business Insider, "there are no plans currently to release any further information about Sussex Royal."

However, it may be safe to assume that Meghan and Harry’s upcoming trip to Africa will have some tie to the charity. It’s also likely safe to assume that the charity will continue to support causes close to the couple, including conservation and mental health.

Though the royal couples have professionally split they still remain grateful for their time together. As a spokesman for the royal couples said in June, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are incredibly proud of what they have achieved together through The Royal Foundation. They are especially proud to have established a charity that has had, and will continue to have, significant long-lasting impact, changing lives for the better."

This Is When the Royal Children Will Start Bowing to the Queen (Video)

Sure, you may have to kiss your grandma when she comes in, hug your cousins, and play with your little sister, but you should try being a royal for a day. After all, they are the ones that need to bow to their great-grandma by age five.

According to royal expert Marlene Eilers Koenig, that is the age when the royal children will be expected to bow to Queen Elizabeth, the sovereign of the United Kingdom.

“Certainly by age five. The only person they will curtsy or bow to is the sovereign. A royal highness does not curtsy to another royal highness,” she told Hello! Magazine in a 2018 interview. “Yes, there are articles that state this, but it is not true.”

According to Koenig, this practice of bowing or curtsying has nothing to do with any official royal precedence. Instead, it’s merely “etiquette.”

“You bow or curtsy the first time you see the sovereign and then again when you leave,” she said, noting we all saw this happen at Christmas services.

“...at church, we saw the Cambridges and Prince Harry and Meghan curtsy and bow when the Queen arrived and left. Other royals including Charles did not because they had come from Sandringham and had already seen the Queen.”

Though we know from the Christmas event that Harry and Meghan, Kate, and William all already bow to their grandmother and grandmother-in-law, what’s a little unknown is if any of their children do as well.

As Marie Claire pointed out, Prince George turns six years old next week, meaning he may be the only kid currently bowing to Queen Elizabeth. Though, Charlotte is four so isn’t that far beyond. We think Prince Louis, who is just one, and Archie, who is a mere infant, both get a pass. But, it will be no time at all before they are bowing and learning the other royal rules like never going to bed before the Queen, never wearing black, and never ever eating shrimp while traveling.

The Adorable Parenting Advice Jay Z and Beyonce Gave to Prince Harry and Meghan

Over the weekend, Meghan Markle took a bit of time away from her maternity leave for a much-deserved date night with her husband, Prince Harry. But, this wasn’t any old date night. This was movie night alongside Beyonce, who happened to give the couple seriously sage parenting advice.

The royal couple attended the London premiere of "The Lion King" on Sunday evening, warmly greeting fans along the red carpet. And, inside the theater, the couple also got to meet the king and queen of music — Beyonce and her husband Jay Z.

Upon their meeting, the two couples warmly hugged and said their hellos. The moment was even captured by royal reporter Rebecca English.

Their chatter quickly turned to babies, as Jay and Beyonce are parents to three adorable kids themselves.

According to The Daily Mail, Beyonce kicked off the conversation about kids, telling Harry and Meghan their new son, Archie, was “beautiful.”

"The baby is so beautiful, we love you guys,” Beyonce said, according to Business Insider.

Harry and Meghan both thanked them before Harry replied, "And how are the twins?"

Beyonce noted, "They are not here. They don't come on every trip. We left them at home. They would have loved to be here.”

Before the two couples parted ways Jay Z pulled Harry to the side to offer a bit of simple, but important, parting advice. According to Business Insider, the rapper told the Prince, "The best advice I can give you, always find time for yourself."

Beyond Jay Z and Beyonce the royals also met with more of "The Lion King" Cast and even announced a partnership with Disney and its new Protect the Pride initiative. According to Good Morning America, the Royal Foundation will help support the media company’s world-wide conversation around lion conservation. All of which sounds like a pretty good reason to get Archie a babysitter for the night.

Prince Harry Reveals How Many Kids He and Meghan Plan to Have

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, may have just welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Archie, in the spring. However, it sounds like the royal couple is already planning to have a second child. But, according to Harry, two will be their limit.

As the world now knows, Meghan guest-edited the September issue of Vogue. In it, Meghan herself sits down with former first lady Michelle Obama and even helped design the issue’s cover. But, she wasn’t the only royal to have a hand in the magazine’s creation. Her husband, Prince Harry, did a little journalism work for the project as well.

For the issue, Harry sat down with famed primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall to discuss everything from climate change to unconscious bias. And when it comes to climate change Harry said it may be his moral imperative to limit the number of children he brings into the world.

“What we need to remind everybody is: these are things that are happening now. We are already living in it," Harry said in their conversation about climate change, according to an excerpt published in the Telegraph. "We are the frog in the water and it’s already been brought to the boil. Which is terrifying.”

Goodall interjected and made it a bit more personal for Harry by noting, “Happening and happened. It is terrifying. Especially as you’ve just had a baby.”

“It does make it different,” Harry replied. “I think, weirdly because of the people that I’ve met and the places I’ve been fortunate enough to go, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”

But, before he could finish, Goodall interjected, “Not too many!”

Harry then surprisingly replied, “Two, maximum! But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

Read the entire interview when the September issue hits newsstands on Aug. 2.

Meghan Markle Is Being Accused of Copying Her Vogue Cover From This Book She Helped Produce

Meghan Markle has proved once again that she’s more than just a duchess — now she’s a magazine editor too. Not everyone is impressed, however.

On Sunday, the Sussex Royal Instagram account announced that Meghan acted as a guest editor for Vogue’s famed September issue.

“For the past seven months, The Duchess has curated the content with British Vogue's Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful to create an issue that highlights the power of the collective,” the caption reads. “They have named the issue: ‘Forces for Change.’”

According to the Instagram post, the Duchess chose a “diverse selection of women from all walks of life, each driving impact and raising the bar for equality, kindness, justice, and open-mindedness.” She purposefully left one space open on the cover. Instead of a portrait, the Duchess left a mirror so “when you hold the issue in your hands, you see yourself as part of this collective.”

The cover features New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, as well as actress Jane Fonda and climate change campaigner Greta Thunberg. Inside, readers can also find an interview between the Duchess of Sussex and former first lady Michelle Obama.

The issue’s cover undoubtedly looks gorgeous and its message inside is one all women should read. However, Meghan is being accused of drawing inspiration for the cover from a previously published book.

Authors Samantha Brett and Steph Adams are accusing the Duchess of ripping off the cover of their book The Game Changers, which Meghan also happened to contribute to more than three years ago.

"It's obviously very flattering, she obviously likes our concept!" Brett told The Daily Mail. "I love Meghan and am a huge fan, but if what people are alerting us to is true, then it's extremely disappointing."

According to The Daily Mail, Meghan herself approved the cover of The Game Changers, which published in 2016, and wrote an essay for the best-selling coffee table book.

The similarities don’t stop at the cover. As The Daily Mail noted, royal officials said the Vogue issue features “trailblazing change-makers united by their fearlessness in breaking barriers.” Meanwhile, a blurb for the coffee table book also read that it’s about “fearless, trailblazing” women.

However, there may be a silver lining to this controversy. Now, Meghan’s cover isn’t just bringing attention to Vogue, it’s also bringing attention to the book. And, the more women we celebrate at once the better, right?

Meghan Markle Has a Genius $9 Packing Secret

Meghan Markle has plenty of excellent life advice to share. From how to spend Valentine’s Day solo, to how to achieve your dreams, and even how to make healthy eating choices, Markle really does seem to have an answer for everything. And that includes how to pack more efficiently for your travels.

Prior to her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle often shared her excellent life advice on her blog, The Tig. There, she even paired up with the cosmetic company Birchbox to not only curate a box of her own, but to also share her travel advice.

“Pack your favorite multi-use stick and face spritz for a quick touch up on cheeks, lips, face when you land,” Markle shared, adding that she only packs items that are multi-functional. This way, she explained, she always has extra room in her carry-on.

Furthermore, Markle said she loves to layer dryer sheets between her shirts, skirts, and dresses while packing. “Clothes will smell fresh when you arrive—and especially when you return home!” Sounds like a hack well worth the $9 a pack to us.

As for when she lands in a new location, Markle said there’s nothing better than connecting with locals (and we couldn’t agree more). To do so, Markle suggested you “find a great cooking class with a local chef, or an art or dance class” to connect with your new destination.

One thing you’ll never see Markle traveling without is hand sanitizer. “I’m no germaphobe, but when I get on a plane I always use some quick hand wipes or a travel sanitizer spray to wipe it all down: that includes the little TV, the service tray, and all the buttons around your seat,” she wrote on The Tig. “Sure, the person next to you may give you a side eye, but at the end of the flight, you’ll be the one whistling dixie with nary a sniffle.”

And, of course, because Markle is rather health conscious she also revealed that she never travels without a probiotic in hand.

“Always travel with a high strain probiotic, and hydrate like you’re dying of thirst – because even if you’re not, for your body – the thirst is real,” she said. “This dynamic duo of probiotics and agua will keep your gut health in check and honestly stave off jet lag if you’re globetrotting on your travels."

While Markle is certainly a seasoned traveler, we bet her future grandmother-in-law the Queen has plenty of advice to offer her as well.
